At the time, it made more sense to donate plasma rather than blood because you can donate twice a month not just once. If you go in around brunch time, you can eat breakfast before donating and lunch after. Then off to the market to buy a big bag of rolled oats and/or sugar and/or butter and/and cigarettes and you're all set for two more weeks. There's no business...
